Couponing on December 23nd and 24th.

So I had a little shopping adventures a couple days before Christmas. I feel like it was my first official couponing trip. Everything I bought I had a coupon for :) and I was very proud of myself for walking out of the store without anything more than I planned to buy. But it was also satisfying knowing I saved a bunch of money.

The first store I visited was Winndixie. I knew I needed to get butter because we were running low. And they had it onsale for $1.99, and when I got to the store I was surprised that it was the HUGE tub of country crock. So it was an even bigger deal than I originally anticipated. Since I've been cooking more, I've been using more butter. I also had a .35 cents off coupon. Which make my butter 1.64. I also had a coupon for a free IZZE 4 pack of flavored carbonated water. Which was 4.99. So I got that completely for free. My total before coupons was $7.33. After tax my total was $1.99. A total savings of 79%.

Next I made my way over to Walmart, and this probably wasn't the best idea before Christmas because it was jammed packed. But I needed a couple of things that I had coupons for. I needed to get braydens pedisure-clear juice. I had a 3.00 off coupon for it making it 1.98. I also had a coupon for enfagrow toddler milk I wanted to try. It was 6.47 and I had a 5.00 off coupon making it 1.47 and it also had a 2.00 off peelie on it that I was able to use, so it was a .53 cent money maker. I also picked up some more reach floss that I had a 1.00 off coupon for making it a .03 cent money maker. I also had a 1.00 off coupon for beech nut fruitables, they were .98 cents making that a .02 cent money maker. I also got some playtex, they were 3.97, and I had a 1.00 off coupon. My total before coupon was $17.37, and after coupons was $4.72, a savings of 79%!

I ran to Harris Teeter while I was on the island on December 24th, because I knew they had great sales going on. And I especially love this store because they accept double coupons!! Which means you save double. So I had a specific plan about what I was going to get. They had a e-vic sale on frozen green giant boxed vegetables for 77 cents. So I got 6 of them. They also had a sale on cookie mix. And I had a coupon. Then I got 6 cream of chicken soups, they had a sale, and I had a coupon. Breakstone's sour cream was on sale for 99 cents. I had a coupon for 50 cents off 1, so they doubled for 1.00. I had 2 coupons, so I got 2 free sour creams. The last item I needed was toliet paper. 12 pack Angel soft double rolls were on sale for 5.99, and I had a $1.00 off coupon. My total before coupons, and e-vic coupons/sales was $30.67, and after coupons my total came to $14.07 oop. A total savings of 54%. I would have had a better breakdown of coupons and sales, but I waited so long to write this blog, that I forgot which coupons I used and which ones doubled for what item.
